Dear Loyal Customers, Friends and Family of Mambo Grill,
It is with much regret and sadness that I have to announce we will be closing the doors at 412 North Clark Street on March 31st. However, have no fear! It’s just a temporary close until the new location at 410 North Wells Street opens its doors sometime in 2010.
Here’s the story behind it:
Mambo Grill has been around for fourteen years and I have owned it for over ten. I’ve had plans in the works to move it to a bigger space just two blocks west of the current location, and two doors down from Kinzie Chophouse (my other restaurant). We simply outgrew the existing space. Originally, with a planned opening date in the spring, the current landlord granted me a lease extension. Due to some construction delays, the estimated date for the reopen moved to the summer. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, my landlord has refused to grant additional time, even with no future plans for the space. Therefore, I must temporarily close.
Don’t worry though, the new location will be a breath of fresh air! The menu will remain the same with a few new exciting additions, and the restaurant itself will be 50% larger! I’ve designed the digs myself and I can’t wait to share it with each and every one of you. I will be posting updates and changes here on the website as well as a timeline for the grand opening. I look forward to reuniting with each and every one of you sometime in the very near future, and toasting to the new Mambo!
